Virtual Learning
Carthage High School offers several on-line courses through the Virtual Learning Center (VLC) for high school students. This style of learning is different from the traditional classroom. However, it can be a great option for some students. While many students are enrolled for credit recovery; it can also help with scheduling conflicts, needed electives, and allows for flexibility for at-risk or home bound students. Virtual learning is offered to CHS students with approval of the student's school counselor.
Missouri Options
The Missouri Options Program (Mo Op) was initiated by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in 2002. Mo Op was designed to target students who have the capabilities to complete Missouri H.S. graduation requirements, but for various reasons lack the credits needed to graduate with their class. The program is for students who are 17 - 20 years old and are at least one year behind their co-hort group. Students who successfully complete Mo Op will receive a Carthage High School diploma.
